I just tried, for the first time, the high speed continuous shooting mode.

Holy crap! That is FAST! I got off 20 shots in less than 2-3 seconds, max. I am thinking there are not a lot of occasions, for me at least, where you need it that fast. I will probably be using the slower mode the most.

Also, I did some basic landscape shots while I was out there at the duck pond. I will need to post those from home later today.

Right?! It's crazy how fast and how long you can shoot this thing with a fast card in it.

I'd recommend leaving the High speed burst set at 10 and setting Low speed to 5-6 frames. That way you have a much more manageable speed on Low burst, while keeping access to high FPS if you need it; plus, you still have Silent burst if you still need something slower.

By the way, I saw you mention that you got yours at Kenmore camera, so I ran out there Sunday before the game and got one. I was getting tired of waiting for Adorama and CanonDirectSales to ship mine. They had a pretty good stack behind the counter.

I finally got mine.

The shutter at full 10fps is amazingly quiet. How will I get the birds to turn their heads to me now ?

I hope my vertical grip comes soon. Shooting chicken-wing style is such a drag.

Sure. If you go into the custom function menus, on C.Fn2, there is an option for "Continuous Shooting Speed". From there you can customize your FPS for High, Low and Silent continuous shooting modes.

Nice shots of that springer. I love springers. Nothing quite like a springer with a pheasant in its mouth. How many did you miss focus on or is that pretty much the entire sequence?

Have you seen this yet? Does not cover everything but it is pretty good.
