Perhaps 3.14.41 of DPP is easier to use than 4.0...?

DPP (older version) seems very easy to me for use, there are just a few tabs and settings you mess with.

3.14 is definitely easier to use...they still seem to be buttoning things up in 4.x

I feel DPP 4.1 is fine if you are looking to create a TIFF to process in another program. I use the lens optimizer and zero out the other settings.

I've only used DPP to view Raws. But I'll wait for lightroom to actually process them.
Don't want to waste space on tifs or use camera raw in Photoshop.
Although I could save the tiff as a psd and delete I guess.

But still. Lightroom is so much faster to me.

I do 85% processing in lightroom or more and run my selective sharpening and noise reduction in Photoshop.

Going to try the lock switch, already moved the AF point by accident.

You could register an AF point I suppose as per the 7D.

Yes it is. I can set up camera presets in LR for noise, lens calibration, etc based on ISO. Next time I open a file in CS6 that has the same ISO I all the presets show up in ACR.

Edit: Never mind, I found the answer in the manual. The 7d mk 2 does have manual audio controls.

Can someone who owns a 7d2 please tell me if it is possible to turn off the "auto" audio setting in video mode and adjust the audio settings (gains) manually? I want to get an external microphone (and a 7d2 for that matter) and on my T2i all I can find is an on or off option for audio. I don't see an option for manual audio controls at all.

I finally got mine.

The shutter at full 10fps is amazingly quiet. How will I get the birds to turn their heads to me now ? :D

That should be your biggest problem in your life. :D

I have tried the new one
seems very heavy on my PC
PC i7 with 8 GB Ram with windows 7 64bit
the old one very fast on starting
maybe I had to stop some programs from the startup list to refresh the memory

Here's another image just for fun. I am running the Yosemite OS, so I can't convert the 7D2 raw files to DNG to use in LR, so I am just shooting jpeg for the moment. This image was ISO 2000, 1/1250 at f/2.8 using the 70-200 f2.8 II. Tweaked for color, a little sharpening, etc. in LR.

Re: the performance of the 7D2, I am blown away by the speed and quiet of the shutter (in both "H" and "S" modes), and the AF is a dream. I usually shoot my 5D3, so I am used to performance, and while designed for different purposes, this machine delivers. My original trusty 7D is now up for sale. The 7D2 will be a nice compliment to the 5D3 for action, wildlife, and more. I am really thrilled so far.
