Ok, I need a duck ID please. Is this little fellow in the first 2 pics a Ruddy Duck who's bill just isn't very blueish? It's about 1/3 the size of a mallard drake.
These are all shot with the 100-400II with the 1.4xII.

That was my initial thought Larry but the duck in question is the male of the pair, it's smaller than a Bufflehead as well. Here's the pair in question. I think they have to be Ruddy Ducks, look at the stiff tail under water and the reddish coloration of the male's back.
