Yes it is. I can set up camera presets in LR for noise, lens calibration, etc based on ISO. Next time I open a file in CS6 that has the same ISO I all the presets show up in ACR.

2014 Breeder's Cup Championship @ Santa Anita Race Track... Last race of the day at dusk... 7D2 + 300 2.8L 'non-IS'... ISO 16,000, f/2.8 @ 1/1250sec... Converted 7D2 RAW file to TIFF (no processing) via DPP v3.14.41.0... Opened and tweaked in ACR and finalized in CS6... Not to shabby for ISO 16k... It was workable with decent results... I can't wait for ACR/CS6 to update their software to support the 7D2 RAW file... I'm sure I can get much better results... In the meantime, this procedure/process will do...

Would you be able to share the raw? I suspect that with DPP and Noiseware, this will clean up very well, and still have the detail left behind. The photo is great (almost has that cool miniaturization look), but at the 2500 pixel view, you can see where the NR (whether DPP and/or CS6) has removed detail. Plus I would really love to work on a 16000 ISO shot from the 7D2. I haven't had access to such a file yet.

Yeah. This one, I think the shutter speed is probably fast enough... focus is on, but looks like its front focused ALOT or something? I was tracking them for a bit before this. Could be that the shutter was too slow... or focus case was too slow to update?

To me it looks like your lens is front focusing. I have the same lens and just completed the tests and adjusted the micro setting to W= +6 and T= +3 Will test this setting tomorrow but looks good on the test results.

Maybe it was an AUTO AF/Zone AF issue. Here's another shot, from farther away. 100% view. Looks good to me. Seems right on, even against a white sky.
BUT....this is at a shorter focal length, which the Tamron is fast to AF at. But from 400-600 it slows down.

I'll post my results with the 500/fL II using the 2x III once I actually get my 7D2 (as I've vented earlier in this thread a few times, I still don't have it in my hands due to Amazon dropping the ball).

I never used the 2x with the 7D because of the inability to AF...

I didn't notice a huge boost in IQ between the II and III versions of the 1.4x, but AF performance was definitely better. If the 2x isn't appreciably slower for AF than what I started with years ago (a 1.4x II, a 300f4, and a 30D), I'll be happy.

IIRC, Arthur also used to stack multiple TCs using extension tubes (and obviously, manual focus). He still got amazing quality images.

My system will focus @ f8 but goes to the single centre point with the 2X. This is on an F4 lens and I'm a assuming this is normal.

Looking at a sequence of shots using auto AF, I can see how fast it can switch. Points can change drastically from one frame to the next. Well, with the AF case I chose.

So it's very possible all this is user error on my part. I gotta stick with group AF or spot AF and will probably get sharp images if I do everything right.

Thats a doable shot at 12800. So im very impressed. your not going to blow that up to a 16x24 but it would work in an album and smaller prints for sure.

May have to rethink the 3200 Limit

It appears on the Coot shot that your issue is the birds moved out of focus range or you moved the focus and took the shot before you lens got focus. I have the same problem with my 100-400 + 1.4x Kenko on my 7D. It does OK with movement from side to side but movement toward or away from me the focus can not keep up. I have a shot with 2 mallards coming toward me at full steam in the water. I was focusing on the front duck but the trailing duck was in focus.

Definitely a focus speed thing since the duck was moving slightly away from you. Does the Tammy have a focus limiter switch? This could help a little if it does.

If that is true, thats gonna be awesome.

No one has bodies only right now. Only kit lens set ups. 2 more weeks is what im told. Anyone hear anything different
