Good job on the Kingfishers. I've never been able to get one in flight intentionally, and even on a branch they are not real common.

Thanks. I was surprised that the he stays there for a while, perching from different branch around me.

To update, Canon returned my camera, extender, and lens (a second time) and said there were no issues with any of them. Only a microadjustment was performed, but that was after the first return and I'd already tested the camera since then and still my images aren't sharp.

The rep (I'm working with one person.) said that the exif data did not indicate any user issues.

Two weeks of rain with at least another to go. When I can finally shoot again, if I still have the problem, I'm going back to Canon and shooting with the rep to see if he can tell me anything.

Thinking of finally pulling the trigger on a new 7d2, but the price is back up to 1499.00. What's the usual practice for canon with they're rebates? Are they done until fall?

I believe it's usually 2x a year. So if you missed this round, probably best to wait until next round if you're looking for both new and used. Since during rebates, the used market would have to understandably drop their prices a little bit, otherwise people would just say, "screw that, for an extra $$, I could get new."

I got mine here

Brand new no issues. Fast shipping. It might be gray market but atleast getting brand new vs if buying used probably has limited to no warranty left and well its used. Although it looks like the price went up $50 from last week when i bought mine

Yeah, I was looking at used, but I'm not going to pay 1200.00 for a used one. I'm ordering a kayak in a week or so and a couple cases of bug spray for better proximity to the birds at my local wildlife refuge. It's over 36,000 acres with only 2 roads and limited foot access so the kayak is going to be an important assett to my shooting this summer. I guess I'll wait for another round of rebates from Canon unless I fall victim to GAS.

Resistance is futile. I embraced the GAS side years ago. My signature wouldn't be true if I didn't.

I will say about this camera.
When the first 7D came out I switched from my 1D3 to the 7D for video. and did it a few times back and forth and I never really liked the 7D files much or the body after owning 3 of them. This one is totally different. I really enjoy this camera and dont regret buying it like I always seem to do with the original 7D
