My first test shot. Cold and dreary out so I had to try something indoors with poor lighting. Not much but it proves the camera works.

1/200, F4.0, ISO 6400, Sigma 17-70mm Contemporary lens.

6400 with a Sigma lens... now im really sold. Perfect

You want a UDMA 7 CF card; the MkII only supports UHS-1 SD cards, which top out at something like 25 mb/s write speed. It takes a LOOONG time to write a burst of RAW to the SD card. My SanDisk extreme pros SDHC cards can do 90mb/sec write - SD has come a long way recently Cameras: 7D2, S100

Nov 05, 2014 19:56 | #1158 I think o made a mistake by opening this thread and subsequently looking at all of these posts and images. I suffer from extreme GAS, going through the majority of the Mirrorless options after shooting with a 5DM3. I kept trying to find the perfect substitute for a DSLR in a smaller body, and while there are some benefits to a Mirrorless system (lighter weight, EVF, lots of features), the drawbacks are still too strong for me to switch to them fully (sucky battery, subpar AF, lens lineup is still lacking for some, ergonomics). I switched back to DSLR with the D810 and it's great. I have no real complaints about it (miss the wifi and the til/touch screen). While I'm getting some great images I'm satisfied with, I'm just not feeling the connection that I did when I was shooting with Canon. Current Gear: Sony RX1RII

So don't expect a 2 stop (or more) improvement, UNLESS you shoot JPG only. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery

That seem to be the case with most of the Canon dSLR lately. eg: 5D3>5D2, pretty much the same in term of sensor improvement.

The don't have it listed in their 'add' menu... WHAT GIVES, CANON!!! Hehehehe... Hope they change that soon... ![]() I used the 7D figuring it wouldn't take the SN but it did. I guess if the 7D MkII shows up I'll delete the 7D and add it as a 7D2. Same with the Canon product registration site. Gallery

Depend on which card you are using, 16GB one has 70MB/s write speed, while 32/64/128GB has 120MB/s write speed. Let's say the 7D2 RAW file is about 20-25MB each, at 10fps, that's about 200-250MB/s, and we know 7D2 has 31 RAW buffer. Even if the 7D2 can take full advantage of 120MB/s, that's only about 1/2 the frame rate, eg: clearing buffer at 5fps. So, after the buffer got full, it would take about 6sec to clear. Your estimate about 5sec is probably right.
