Me too!!! Should go nice with my pre-order of the 400L DO IS II...

;)

I can't wait to see how they compare with your mark IV and f2.8.

I'm still on the fence for the 7DII, it gives me all things I wish I had on the 1DIV and will come close and/or match(from what I've seen so far doesn't look like it will beat it) on the things I love about it. The fact it can be had for less than what I can still get for my 1D should already be enough(I don't think I can budget keeping both at this time). If the button layout matches the 5DIII/IV(hopefully the late doesn't change if it matches the former) good enough I could use them in the same housing like the 1DsIII and 1DIV.

I hope the contrast and flare are much improved mark II DO over the mark I. I've always liked the 400 DO but didn't feel it's IQ matched it's price.

I am happily a wanna be although still just a little concerned about possible sensor let down compared to 1D4. But to be honest, I need the reach and the megapixel for wildlife so I most likely will pay up. I also have to remind myself that I do get some pretty awesome shots out of my aging 7D and this can only be better

bird shooters need the reach from the new 7D II
like macro shooters need more details from any new camera

Let me hazard a few guesses.

More MP
More DR
Higher ISO
Way less read noise.
WiFi
4K video

All of those better than physically possible with technology and well above a top of line camera for $100 or less.:D

Oh yeah, size and weight of a P&S camera that fits in your pocket.

DPreview was given a beta copy of ACR 8.7 for RAW converter. They selected some RAW photos and pushed shadow and it looks decent to me. Far from Sony good, but certainly not too bad for a Canon APS-C sensor. ;)

Crazy. Apparently they have not sent those out to the US or the vendor I chose is hanging on to it until my camera arrives. I pre ordered the camera, grip and battery.

I ordered the grip from a different retailer.

I'm looking forward to the posts in this thread in the upcoming weeks and months. It's exciting. It will be fun to share the enthusiasm people will experience with their new camera body.

That and it will be interesting to hear the complaints as well....... are these operator errors or camera defects? I always love those discussions.

I'm hoping to pick up a 7D 2 sometime early in the Spring... and that's the Florida Spring. ;)
