Thank you Hokiealumnus. I'm finding this to be a great camera, and certainly the perfect upgrade from my 50D.
I thought I really wanted a full frame instead, but now I think I'll need a ff for certain times, but this is going to be my main camera.

Tests with the 70-300L today, don't think it will need any MFA (unlike my 17-55 which seems to be front focusing like crazy).

All SoOC JPEG.

Heading over to the Huntington Botanical Garden and Library, here in SoCal... Armed with the 7D2, 200 1.8L, and a couple of accessories.... My objective for today comes in two folds; macro photography and bokeh compositions... Macro you say?! I also brought my Kenko Tubes, as well the 200's 48mm drop-in CPL filter... Findings, analysis, and results forthcoming...

:)

I expect to need to MFA my lens when the camera arrives. I have my 100 macro, 50/1.4, 17-55, 100-400 and maybe the 70-300 non-L.

I expect to keep my 7D and use is as a second body with most likely the 17-55 when I am out birding/hiking for landscape type shots.

I haven't decided what to do with the 70-300 yet, since I bought the 100-400
last December.

I'd sell the non-L, but that's me.

The 17-55 is always somewhat finnicky. When I got it and had my 60D it was front focusing like mad and of course no MFA, so I sent it to Canon and they made it better, but it still likes to front focus, at least now I have the tools to correct for it.

I am leaning to selling the non-L. Manufacturing tolerances make it fun. The 7D was my first MFA body so it will be interesting to see the differences between the bodies.

Okay, I'm bored at the office and probably won't to get to shoot anymore until gameday Saturday. So, here are a couple of more photos from last Saturday but at a little lower ISO than the others I posted.

For those still looking to buy... Just saw Adorama is now bundling a free cam ranger with the 7dII KIT!
Wish my salesman would have given me that info since I just bought one from them.
