Yes, they are small and very fast fliers. The 7D2's focus was quick, would have been better if I could have kept the focus points on them.

How's the sharpness, have you used it much? Sharpness of 18-135/7DII: Very good on my computer screen, but look blurry once uploaded here... f8, 1/250th Image hosted by forum (699001) © rejay14 [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Yes. dinny66 wrote in post #17257307 Quick question #2 - are people having trouble with DPP 4.1.1 crashing? I've not installed it yet. I possibly, perhaps probably, even will. But I've dealt with DPP before and my enthusiasm hasn't yet risen to the occasion (as it were). For my purposes (prints to A4/Letter size) the JPEGs have been good enough that I haven't fealt like bearing the pain of DPP so far. Some digital cameras, some film cameras, some lenses & other kit.

About something I don't (yet) have a proper feel for. But after 185 exposures (so many!) I'm starting to get the impression that the evaluative metering in the 7DmkII is especially good. Without even thinking about it, while mostly messing around trying to figure out the AF, I've somewhat missed the fact that I have hardly any badly exposed photos. Even slightly badly exposed photos. Every shot I've taken so far (aside from some deliberately experimental ones, where I've forced the exposure to be 'wrong') seems well exposed. Some digital cameras, some film cameras, some lenses & other kit.

If what I'm seeing is real, rather than something that's "just happened" by pure luck, is this not something of an un-heralded advantage of the new camera? Thoughts? ...Mike I believe it's due to the new IR and RGB metering system, it is very useful for better WB analysis, exposure, and probably AF as well. Not sure about AF, but IR aware sensors can help with AF if utilized properly, IR can see things that are quite difficult in the visible spectrum. I believe the system does work with Live view stills and movie AF. Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery
