Thanks! Its more of a cavity than a hole, i think because of all the like textures and colors it looses depth and looks flat.Think of a hollow tree with the front side missing. The picture below is the same owl and tree but in B&W (I added the moon. :) ) The owl has stepped up and out on the edge so I think you can get a better perspective on what the tree looks like.

At least the feeder is tack sharp.

LOL! And that is where I thought he was going to stay. I'm finding that the bluejays here are more like hit and run feeders. They don't stick around long.

I have the same problem here in northeast Florida. I very seldom see them at the feeder and when they are they are in and out. -?

I have had mine a few weeks now and use it 99% of the time with a Sigma 150-600c as my walkabout set up. I am very impressed and realise the one I tried out when they first came out must have been set up very badly. It is so much better than the MK1 in every way and my 1Div is not getting much use anymore.

A Blue Jay will usually give me all of 1/2 second to nab them. Pondrader's J's will walk calmly at his feet!

Doc, it is not just feeders. I don't see them stay anywhere long. Here is one from a few weeks ago.

great photos all, Im finding this thread (and I follow a few) seems to be my most active one. Its a pain that I find myself torn between two cameras these days, the full frame 5DIII is lovely but Im finding the 7DII to be the more versatile camera for most situations. Starting to wonder if its just me but over all I find myself liking the 7DII more. At least its giving my 5DIII a rest

I'd think the 7Dii + 5Diii would be a very complimentary pair especially if you can have something really long on the 7Dii and something in the middle ...like a 100-400 on the 5Diii. I understand though the idle 5Diii admiring your Flickr page---seems vast majority of your work is wildlife so the 7Dii makes great sense.

yes I kind of go between wildlife landscapes and portraits, the 7DII is prety good with a 70-200 on it and the 5DIII with a 24-70 if I want to carry two cameras. I find the tamron a real trial to cart around for either of the cameras

A few of today's with the 7Dii and Sigma, (and I have been working so) the Heron was from an early dog walk and the others a lunch break with no lunch for me.
