Just have to ask...have the people who are losing their minds about RAW support actually tried the camera in jpeg mode? The SoOC jpegs are pretty darn good on the Digic 6 for 90% of your shooting needs, IMO.

So I put in a freshly charged battery right about 24 hours ago, just checked it and when I shut it off yesterday it said 99%, now it says 98%. I am going to guess that the people with a lot of loss over time have left the GPS on or something else.

**Update**
Spoke with vendor's tech department, advised to continue using the other battery and see if it to has a short charged battery cycle also. If it does, there's a issue with Camera, if not, its the original battery that's faulty.
He further said, it should not of fully discharged in a hour of just setting up camera.

Agree here - it sounds like the battery may be faulty. Is that the one that came with it? There is also a procedure if the charger just blinks once to get it to jumpstart and charge the battery.

...Will I be able to use DPP 3.11 with with the 7D2 raw files?

No, you'll have to download the latest version which is 3.14.45 to read the 7D MKII raw files.

My 7D2 will arrive Monday and I'm dreading not being able to use LR with raw...and hearing the reviews of DPP 4. I have always used LR or PE but have the DPP disk for my 7D with DPP 3.11, which appears to be a bit easier to use. Will I be able to use DPP 3.11 with with the 7D2 raw files?

You need to update to DPP 3.14.45 - http://www.usa.canon.com …ark_ii#DriversAndSoftware (external link)

Went out shooting yesterday and did not have a great day with BIF. I had it on 10 FPS to check it out. I came across this today and I know there are a lot of 100-400 owners out there. I was using my 300L F4 IS. I believe all the lenses listed are older generation. Hopefully this helps someone.

I tried this the other day and was really pleased with the results ,the trick is to get your exposure just about spot on (as you should ) I was on standard but intent to try neutral as it may help when pp work is needed.

Sorry. Soft images.

Because of the less than 10 fps or something else?

8000 ISO! Looks superb on my screen. Did you have to do a lot of NR?

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I read in some pages back about folks complaining about battery life.

I charged by battery, as I do in the same way with my batteries of the 7D and 5DIII. It took a few hours to charge the battery that came along with the 7DII. Later that evening I spent about a hour going through the menu to set it up. During this process my battery died on me. Ok, so I get another one I have, and install it and keep going. I put the original battery that came with the 7DII back on the charger to recharge yesterday evening, before going to bed. This morning it still was blinking yellow.

My conclusion at this point is a faulty battery, it should of been fully charged.

So others who have been complaining about short life span with there battery full charged, may just be a bad batch of batteries coming with the camera, and not the camera being a battery hog. Will have to investigate further...

That was me, Bianchi, during the Breeder's Cup sporting event I shot last week... So yesterday was the first time using the camera since the event... Fully charged and ready to shoot... I went to a local Botanical garden here in SoCal and shot 122 frames during a 3 hour period... The battery life indicator was still at full bars!!! So I'm chalking up the Breeder's Cup battery fiasco as a fluke in my part... Gonna try shooting again soon to gauge and see the 7D2's battery life longevity... I'll keep you and everyone posted!!! I'm hoping yours is also a fluke and that you get better results in your next photographic outing...

:D

Just noise reduction in CS6... Nothing more...
