Julie,
I am happy for you.
Q: What's the difference between a crop camera owner and a FF owner?
A: The crop owner will always work harder and get results to prove the FF owner wrong. ;-)a

Gyt

:-P well I have both and just use which camera is best suited for the job at the time

Well, that's probably roughly what I get on the 7D2. I don't have the 80D to compare it to.

DJHaze,
You are above average. Let me guess, of all 480 frames, you average 2 per burst. After the first of a burst, the rest, even in Servo tracking is nearly free battery usage compared to single shot shooting. you can Google plenty of discussion and data about this issue.

I guess something has to power the extra Digic 6 processor... 2 x engines will use more fuel than 1 x engine.....

The 1D series batteries are twice as big for a reason..

This doesn't explain the fact that the 7D with its dual digits etc got easily got double the shots under all conditions.

I still contend this is an unsolved hardware control issue either of the display or processors, but was unable to get traction. I did demonstrate the display usage is a large part, along with the new active vf overlay (this costs about 1-2%per day, but wouldn't have impacted your shoot count if started at 100%.

Cool. I would love to participate for something like that if it is in Seattle. Great shots.

Question to Kev.

I think it was you who told me your Grand Daughter worked at Aussie Zoo....

Is it a good Zoo to shoot at? I have not been for years and live less than 30 mins from it.

I was thinking of getting a season pass and going on a mission to photograph the animals.

We had our yearly down hill bike event in our town today,, bike race time trials down the hill into the main street at high speed, along the way going over jumps either natural or man made. pro bikers come from all over the country and sometimes out of the country. How many towns in the world have a bike race that jumps over your chicken run in your back yard, we are pretty laid back people here i guess, here are a few photos I took. All taken with 70-200F4L IS

Anyone using aftermarket batteries? What brand should I get or should I just stick with the Cannon batteries?

I am, i have the original Canon battery and two Wasabi batteries. The weird thing is i bought my camera on Amazon from Canon and it came with a kit and the wasabi batteries were in that kit. I dont get any warnings or anything. I have used wasabi batteries in canon camcorders, my old DSLR my GoPro and have never had any issues.

If you called the fist one a Monkey to it's face, you'd likely no longer have one! :)

Nice shot!

Not a lot to shoot to be honest George other than the aviary birds. The elephants have gone, the tigers are behind glass, (when they're out) The Giraffes, rhino and zebra are invariably at the far end of their enclosure out of range, and the red panda is invariably hidden. If you've seen one roo or croc, you've seen 'em all I guess. That said, I have an annual pass as I go regularly just to shoot the wild birds that show up around the property and to see my granddaughter performing of course :-)
