so - where does the vote fall on this one?
Yeay or Nay - i tried to salvage the image by pushing to softer and higher contrast.

Even if it made it into Lightroom, it would be tagged rejected on the first pass through the photos.

I'm getting more picky with the files I process. I even have rejected TD catches this year because they were a little bit out of focus where as in the past, I would try to save them.

Yeah, one can save a lot of things, but OOF shots are not one of them, unfortunately.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

One of my worst misses. I was walking around in the Western Ghats hills near the city of Coimbatore in south India when I happened to go by a tribal village and this kid was standing in his doorway staring at me. I quickly raised my camera and got this shot off, but missed badly. I still regret it.

Watched a wonderful documentary this evening on PBS about the people of India and there mutual respect for wildlife, as well as for there fellow man..
One particular clip was about cranes that migrate and travel great distance at extreme elevations where the air is thin, and villagers put feed out for them every day.. A spectacle to watch there landing and take off about 5000 cranes....Amazing clip !!

Ah yes, the demoiselle crane, that winters in North India after an insane migration over the Himalayas. The villagers feed them grain to help them recover from the journey and build up strength for the return journey. A lovely story of these tribal people that live in harmony with nature.

Nice shot! I saw it and thought to myself, "Damn, that looks just like the one I took a couple of months ago!"

Sure enough, almost exactly the same view/angle:
