Very glad if not surprised to find the a9 via Metabones has AF-tracking with the 400DOii with and without 1.4TCiii

For me primary is weight. a9 meets or exceeds 1DXii stats, well exceeding most. Size is nice too.
Having shot 1DXii for a while now I can say without doubt the a9 has a much better AF-C/tracking system and that's
saying a lot because the 1DXii's AF-tracking system is already impressive---it just can't track from one side of the screen
to the other and top to bottom like the a9.
The dynamic range is as good or almost as good as the 1DXii yet the a9 is 6fps faster. 1DXii beats it in having
an 'eternal' buffer using CFast but a9 still has a large buffer. That said, if I were to drop either I'd prefer it be
the 1DXii.
Use to be complaints on battery life but a9 has larger batteries, add the grip for two batteries and I've shot all day.
No long glass though, but when I look the last Florida trip shooting birds the vast majority of my keepers were at 400 or
400 with 1.4TC.....either using the 100-400ii or the 400DOii. I took the 500ISii and got keepers with it, I'd just tire so quickly
using it----that's why mine is up for sale at FredMiranda. Strength wise I think I can use the 400DOii hopefully two more years.
So it was a bonus that I found via Metabones the 400DOii will work on the a9.
Now ask me about the a99ii :( That is a quandary.

Sanil you are welcome.
Just know that everything I say about Sony is clouded/colored/jaded by my increasing inability to use big heavy lenses.
Sony is just an intermediary step towards mFT for me. I'm good with all that, considering the ultimate end to all this is
the inability to carry any camera.

I believe that ... its all about how much joy you derive from the process of image making .. than worry about - gear, PP and even the end result.

I realised this couple of years ago after going through different models of cameras , different genres of photography etc .. etc...

from your posts i see that you really enjoy the process... Stay blessed.

Love the composition. I'm guilty of getting 'too much bird' often. Nice to see the environment.

:) thank you.

Always tried to get closer to birds ... couldnt reach them and was forced to take some shots from a distance.

In some shots i could see BG was adding lot of value to composition.

So decided to change the style and started concentrating more on BG.

I am very surprised about the whight of this lens. Compared to the 300mm f/2.8 IS Mk. I it is nearly "tiny". Seems that we could have some fun together.

A young bluetit in my garden, no crop.
