Last week I had the opportunity to take a boat ride to Boca Chita Key in Biscayne National Park after work. Boca Chita Lighthouse is the de facto landmark for Biscayne National Park and I wanted to try and capture an image of the lighthouse for my collection.

The weather conditions were great with charismatic clouds and a very vibrant and colorful sunset. I managed to capture a few different images of the lighthouse and liked the way they turned out.

After all that effort to create these images, #4 has a crooked horizon?! There's a ruler tool in Lightroom that works every time. Anyway, that's my favorite shot - ol' #4. I like #2, also - tasteful HDR if that what was done. Later,

Number 1,2 and 4 are 3 exposures combined into one image to account for the extreme light differences between the sun and the shadows. Did not notice the horizon on #4 until your comment. I think I was focused on the land peninsula that the lighthouse is sitting on and used that as my level benchmark.

I tried to capture the scene in a few different compositions since I did not know when I would be able to take the boat back out to the island in the future. Luckily the sky cooperated and started turning orange well before the sunset due to the diffuse cloud cover. This gave me the time I needed to move around and change perspectives.

I also have one more image I captured on this trip I really liked using a different subject. I will post that one in its own topic later.
