Softbox or bouncer for event photography?

Which type of diffuser is the best for event (wedding, car show, outdoor concert etc.) photography? I would think the bouncer (pro max system) because of versatility (different colors of inserts) and less light loss. But I am concern that the bouncer may not have as "wide" of a coverage as the softbox, so it may be diffcult to distribute lights evenly for group photos.

i just bought the bouncer, will receive it by wednesday
i might buy the softbox if the bouncer is not satisfactory
i heard that you lose about 2 stops on the flash on the softbox though
that will be a pain on recycling time and battery use

I've owned the Lumiquest mini softbox. (and several other of their products)

I eBayed it because :

a) It had little effect... and was far inferior to bouncing off a ceiling. In my personal and humble opinion... a really bad product. The velco worked, but that was it.

b) It was sooooo Mickey Mouse to look at... could not be taked seriously with it..... and the snoot was even sillier.

The original question... " Which type of diffuser is the best for event (wedding, car show, outdoor concert etc)" is at least 3 questions....

In my mind :

Wedding - One of Gary Fongs lightspheres - Can't buy them in the UK but I've played with them and they are great. Don't like their way of doing business and lack of responsiveness to email... but the product is good.

Car show - A couple of 6ft x 4 ft shoot thru difuser screen and some portable studio strobes (Lumidynes maybe ?)

Ourdoor concert - No flash at all.... ever.... with or without diffuser.
