If it had a swivel screen I might have been more inclined to jump without thought, but the spec isn't quite convincing enough to make the switch to the Mark 2 a no brainer Art that takes you there. http://www.artyman.co.uk

Both my camera bodies, T4i and 70D have it and I find myself not really using it much, other than it's nice that the screen is not exposed while storing. MalVeauX wrote in post #17157664 Still need real world review. It needs to be compared to the current 7D, the 70D, and the 1D3 and 1D4. Very best, That should be the real basis for aiding in making a decision. Photo123abc wrote in post #17157691 Waiting for test results. They say it is not the same sensor as the 70D, however I haven't found anything other than that statement, to prove that it is not. Ron

Sep 16, 2014 05:07 | #6 I'll almost certainly buy one, but not this year. I'll be waiting until all the 'must-have-new-toy-NOW!' suckers have paid the instant-gratification tax that we have in the UK. By next spring the price will have dropped from the current £1600 to around £1200 - then us sensible people can get one. Frank Hollis - Retired mass spectroscopist

patrol50 Senior Member More info | Sep 16, 2014 05:20 | #8 well I have put my name of a pre order wait list but I wont buy ( or pay up ) until I see some iso comparisons between the new and old 7 d and the 70 d and I suspect there may not be that much difference ( at the moment all the hype is via cannons marketing people and I suspect that may be pretty sus ) but I will be delighted if there is a useful improvement in iso and noise improvement and cough up the necessary no problem for a new toy C:- 7D Mk11 ; 7Dc ; 600D & SX10 IS / L:- EFS 10-22 f3.5-4.5 USM ; 55-250 f4-5.6 IS 11; 18 -200 f3.5-5.6 IS ; & EF 16- 35 f4 L IS USM , 24-105 f4 L IS USM; 70-200 f4 L IS USM; 100-400 f4.5-5.6 L IS 1 USM (V1 and V11); + C 1.4 Ext Mk3 & Tam 150 - 600 f5-6.3 DI VC USD.

Sep 16, 2014 06:37 | #12 Well its not small change, so yes I'll be waiting for reviews, real world opinions and in general an understanding of how the image quality (esp ISO and dynamic range,) stand up against the 7D and other competing cameras in the market. Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

TeamSpeed 01010100 01010011 More info | Sep 16, 2014 06:46 | #15 Not the same exact sensor as the 70d... At the heart of the camera is a newly designed 20.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor. While that may sound familiar, given the 70D's identical resolution, according to Canon, the 7D Mark II's sensor is in fact an all-new design, with improved clarity over the 70D's sensor. However, like the Canon 70D, the new 7D Mark II brings over Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF live view focusing system, with some notable improvements with speed and sensitivity adjustments. Or you can hear this from a canon representative yourself at the 2 minute mark Past Equipment | My Personal Gallery
