Hi Guys - new to the forum so hello!
I'm just getting into photography but I think I've managed to pick up a good bit of info in the last few weeks.
Basically, I'm quite interested in astrophotography amongst other things and would like to make an attempt at capturing the milky way. My camera is a 500D and all I've got so far is the 18-55 stock lens and I have also very recently purchased an EF 70-300 mm F/4-5.6 IS USM Lens - it seems like its an older model to the common one, with no lock and only 1 IS setting - still need to try this one out!
Anyhow, I'm after a prime lens with a low f stop so that I can capture more light and my budget isn't very high. I have had a look though the lens PDFs but cannot seem to find what I'm looking for, so I was hoping that someone here could point me into the right direction.
I came across the 50mm prime lens at f1.8 for a very good price, but as I'm on a crop sensor, this will effectively be an 80mm lens. For this reason, I'm looking for something closer to a 35mm lens as I would also like to use it for 'everyday' walking around.
Thanks
Ian
