This looks like something I'm going to buy (or at least very seriously think about buying!).
- 500 W
- LED modeling light
- can be run on AC mains or battery
- TTL with built in ODIN control
- HSS

This got my attention. Wish the battery is on board though.

I'm sure I'll be adding one to my gear list if the reviews are good. It'll change my sports shooting.

I would love a set (4). But at $1300 USD a pop, I think I will just keep my Einsteins.

New Phottix Odin II recently announced http://journal.phottix.com …nces-odin-ii-ttl-trigger/ (external link)

The Phottix Odin II and Indra 500 shows that Phottix is serious about creating an integrated lighting system, with TTL and HSS capability, that will compete with any flash system available to date. If Phottix introduces a Mitros with an integrated radio Master 5 Group capability, like the Odin II, then Canon would be getting some very serious competition which up till now has only come from Yongnuo in a limited capacity with the YN-E3-RT.

The $1300 price tag seems high but when you look at the TTL and HSS features as well as the ability to integrate with shoe flashes in many different environments then it may be justifiable for a lot of photographers.

Will the Einsteins do HSS? I've only seen people using hyper sync where it had to be on full power and then possible banding. Plus had to use the expensive Pocket Wizards.

Einstein does not do HSS. It only does HyperSync at full power.
Its IGBT power control, which reduces flash duration with power reduction cuts the tail off and makes Hyper Sync impossible below full power.

I'm interested in using this in HSS outside. I wonder if when you go into HSS it drops the power of the strobe considerably just like on a speedlight.

Can't seem to find information on the type of mount, if any.

They didn't say, but considering all of Phottix's self-branded modifiers are S-type/Bowens, I'm fairly certain they'll stick to that mount.

Using Godox AD 360ws, you lose 2 stops when using HSS. Let's see what this Indra500 can do :)

So if the same were true with these Indra500's and you lose 2 stops. Then it should still be greatly more powerful in HSS comapred to Canon 600EX-RT speedlights.
