Found a new location and new model. Let me know what you think.
Full set on flickr.

Nice Set - IMO I would like to see the camera at a higher position.

I've been forcing myself to shoot more from a higher position than the model. I think that camera angle is in vogue now ;)

Thanks!

I can feel where you're coming from. Sometimes I do, but lately I kinda been shooting eye level or lower. To me it makes it seem like they're taller

That is exactly what shooting eye-level does NOT do. Shooting up at a slight angle makes people and objects look taller. Don't believe me/ Take a look at a lot of the Sports Illus one man shots.

In my opinion your 'set' simply sucks. Maybe with some creative lighting you could get some good stuff in and around all that tin, but with your lighting? yech.:p

Couple of Canon bodies, a couple of Canon lens, few gadgets all stuffed in a bag...and a stick, and a tripod.

I think the model looks a little uncomfortable/stiff in a couple of these, but she has a great look, and with more practice/better direction, she could look amazing! The composition of the last one isn't working for me.. She's too centred, and her elbow is locked out.
The 3rd pic is my favourite for her facial expression. If only you hadn't cut her fingers off!?! <--- sort of thing I'd do. Too busy concentrating on the eyes hehe!
I like the lighting on the first shot, but think you could've moved the camera to the right a bit, and cut some of that glare out.

#1 is a winner, although the shoes don't work IMO.

I completely understand what you're saying. Hey, to me sometimes it does.

Appreciate the critique and the honesty. I'll take it into consideration.

Thanks, yea I'm making some beginner mistakes. I do focus more on the eye and forget about the rest of the image.

I love the first and the last! The middle two aren't my favs, I think because the background is a tad distracting IMO. I love the composition of the last one because the leading lines are great and draw my eyes straight to her!

Honestly I would like to see more of her and less of the background. Negative space and creative framing can work, but here she is diminished.

Not sure with some of these if the focus is the model or the building. I would focus on the model, she has a stunning look. Maybe get closer and use the building as background rather than a second subject.

More so of the model, the building was just extra. I can see what you are saying, it's a lil' busy, so the focus seems to be more of the building.
