Just got back from a day trip to Knight Inlet, BC to see some grizzlies (I would have called them brown bears but they call them grizzlies down there). It was an beautiful day with lots of family groups. We had amazing wildlife on the boat ride out too: sea lions, whales, black bear, etc.

1)There was already a bear party going on when we rolled up.

Very nice, Drew! I'd call 'em Browns, too. Grizzlies are normally the skinnier, inland cousins to the big coasties.

Great shots mate.
We were there 2 years ago (before the fire) and didn't see any bears around the estuary but I recon we seen at least 50 different bears in the spawning channel.
Being an Aussie I don't really know the difference between Brown & Grizzly, but hey, they are beautiful animals and Knight Inlet was a great experience for us

Great shots. I didn't know they did the photo boats like in the first shot. Are those common?

Was it difficult shooting from the boat?

I'd also like to know the answer to this. I assume with a fast enough shutter, it wouldn't be an issue.
