Really tempting now that my 7D needs to have a board replacement... What timing, spend min of $350 to get it fixed on a 5 yr old camera or put it toward a new mark II. What a dilemma.

I haven't yet, but it does look tempting. I'm curious about how IQ and noise will look from the sensor. I'd have to see some reviews and testing of it out in the field before pulling the trigger on one.

I’m on the edge. I really like my 7d, and I’m diggin the high iso and improvements.. should I wait until tests come out, or get on the pre-order and wait still? Maybe only a few bodies will be available and the wait to get one will be terrible as well.. ugh

I will definitely get one, just a question of when. I might wait a bit, hopefully after the camera gets into the hands of some end users and can be put through its paces and is confirmed to be good.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Ya I really like my 7D as well!! it has made me 10 times better photographer just being so hard to work with in the noise end of thing's. I rarely let the iso run very high as the noise just kills me... so running slow shutter speeds has left me feeling like at times I wish I had a 5D III or something that I could get that shot in lower light and still have the smooth back ground. but your going to drop $3000 on a 5DIII

I don't think we are going to be disappointed in the 7d2 ....I think its going to smash it right out of the park. lol
AF thats just slightly better than a 1Dx 41 cross type...7D2 65 cross type wow 10 fps thats just freken awesome !! Canon would not tell us its a new sensor if it was the old one in the 70D that would be just wrong on there part i think,... and they have stated it is not so I'm thinking ....I'll never have a 1Dx because I just don't have $7000 laying around lol So this is as close as I'm going to get in the next 5 years or so I'm jumping on it.
I figure If I can get a darn good shot from the 7D .....than the 7D II can only make me better.
And every time you pull the trigger everyone around you is going to look at you and say ...What is that ...that is one heck of a smile enhancer lol

Here in the UK we have a strange situation whereby the retailers all agree not to discount the price below the manufacturers recommended selling price (MRSP) for the first few months. This means that they can maximise their profits from all those people with more money than sense who must have the new shiny toy now and they must have it now!

After a few months, when all the fools have been fleeced, the price will drop to something more realistic down from £1600 to about £1250. Then the sensible people can start buying.

Lol ya your right frank, but us fools will have the pleasure of shooting something that put a really big smile on our face while you are still reading the bull that every arm chair expert is splattering all over the pages of POTN. LIFE IS SHORT Frank, don't spend it sitting on the side line. You can't take it with you. !!! Some drive a $100 car others $100000 :-}

I've got much better things to spend £350 on than the ability to shoot slightly faster pictures for three months. My 7D has served me well for 5 years, I'm sure it will do just as well for a few months.

I spend thousands every year to travel around and see my country and all that is in it, and to spend time with the people I have met out there somewhere, I have started to know there names and places they live, "There story" ...Spent $22,000 on a trailer to make life more comfortable while my wife and I are out shooting images that I share with POTN , generate zero income from and pull it all down the road with a $70,000 truck!! .....So Yup this fools just about packed up for a couple weeks of shooting with strangers in a country thats going to look like its on fire and gona love every minute of it. My only regret is I can't take the 7D mark II and you Frank because you would have loved it too.
