Desert Bighorn Sheep (Northern AZ)

I finally got a chance to photograph some wild bighorn sheep. They were mostly far away (300 yards or more) but I was happy to get a shot.

I used my 7d and 100-400L. I wish I had a bigger lens, but dont we almost always wish that.

Sometimes it is nice to do some environmental pictures and not have the longer lens. You have some nice behavioral shots and the individual ewe images are nice compositions.

Do you mind sharing where you saw these at? I go out with game and fish on Canyon lake normally one a year to photograph the sheep up there.

These were up in Kingman by the Hover Dam.
I shot them from the River on an AZGFD boat.
