John those are a couple very nice shots there . What workflow do you use if you don't mind my asking ? Personally I would slightly bump the detail a notch just to bring out the fine feathers here .

Just using DPP sometimes elements. Shot w/70-300 heavy crop.
Then sized to 140kb. The original is alot sharper. After i size for the web not much i can do.
When i'm real close they come out alot sharper.

Good shots John. One suggestion, instead of reducing the image to 140kb (which is tiny and wont hold much detail) try resizing to 1024px on the long side. That will be fine for here and should look a bit better too :)

Thanks Mark i'll try that. But i use attach image (max 150kb).
Plus i looked at the original and its a bit OOF. For the male.

Ah I see, straight from your computer then. I tend to host mine on Flickr, the option is then to simply copy and paste the BB code into here and it will put them in at 1024px for a landscape format image. Not that I'm promoting Flickr but hosting sites like that do often make life easier if you want to post onto forums such as this.
