In earlyer days I've used a couple of 580EX Speedlites with PocketWizard remotes. That went fairly well with some mishaps now and then.
A system you can't rely on for the 100% you don't use on, lets say happenings like a wedding.
Last week I had a wedding planed and a castle shoot with two lovely models.
Time to use the "stable" gear
!
For the wedding couple the 600 filled the hall nicely with pure light, the trigger had no problem finding the strobe. I took some 10 images in a row and all of them had the same amount of light-fill, giving the woman a nice rim light while were at it.
Later on that day I used a 600 + 580 combo without a sweat.
For the two models I had a 400mm F2.8 shot outside in mind. The sun was covered so I wanted to bring some fill in licht from the left.
Everything was far away, the models, the strobe, but it all went according to plan without any mishaps.
In the meantime one of the 580's went sick (overloaded on a dumb strobe-setting, my mistake!). I'm gonna change it soon with another 600 for sure!
Just wanting to share the smile on my face
