There was no good reason I took this at 1000/sec, with the resulting ISO 20,000, but it seems to have survived OK. Taken at 1000 mm on a monopod.

Pretty Yellowlegs in an interestingly muddy looking environment Ian....go figure, right!
The detail is all there and impressively retained in the nosebleed section of high ISO. I think the capture was helped some by what appears to be reasonable lighting, but that doesn't detract from the 1DX capabilities. Very nicely accomplished!

Thanks all. Yep Steve, the river bottom at low tide is either gravel or mud. Lighting was only so-so, which I think helped raise the requirement for the high ISO.
