...imagine being privey to what is really about to happen and browsing the forums for all the speculation and what is read into those little slips, real or not.

I bet they all have a good laugh at our expense!

I got quite a bit of ammusement from reading all the speculation on a "leaked" 3000D PDF recently that I 100% know was a fake (I know the guy who did it), I bet the Canon guys all had a laugh at that one too, if they do indeed read the forums.

Canon is a huge company. And probably few people there know what they are designing and researching. You'd have to either be in marketing or R&D of the cameras to be in the know. They probably have several prototype cameras they build and design but never becomes a product.

Any product R&D takes years from an idea to pushing out to the market. I work for a dow company and everyone knows what will be on the market in the next few year (not just the big guns), although the final detail and product specs could be changed anytime. They are not top secret within the company and I assume thousand and thousand of Canon employees would have that kind of information too.
