I finally got to see the two Lancasters this weekend, at the Southport airshow. This was the last show before Vera heads back to Canada later this week, and my thanks go to the crew for extending their stay long enough to visit my local airshow.

It was great to see them, complete with fighter escort. Although the weather was poor on the saturday, seeing them perform in horrible grey conditions and rain, the weather brightened on the sunday and the light was good for photography. Here are a couple of shots from Vera's last official display of the tour.

It's on it's way home now so lets hope for a safe trip. The Facebook page has a pretty impressive send off photo showing the 2 Lancs, 2 Hurricanes & 2 Spitfires.

I agree,

The best pictures of the two ladies together. I'd have loved that light when we saw them.

These are book worthy in my opinion. And should be to mark the history.

Lovely pictures. Vera visited the Western Canadian Airplane Museum in Winnipeg a couple of years ago. People lined up to get a tour inside this old warbird.
