NIce detail in your photos Sibil. Is the second one an ornament?

Thanks. It is a small globe similar to this
http://www.amazon.com …560&sr=8-2&keywords=globe (external link)
But, instead of earth, it is a decorative piece. I am hiding the stand in the back, in the dark. I can take another pic that shows the whole thing if you are interested.

Today's news from the garden is that last night's rain (yes, we got some; no, not enough) brought out the subterranean termites. This kind doesn't eat buildings. Our colony probably lives on the roots of a fig tree that used to be there. They emerge the morning after the first significant rain of the season.

First image, two round holes where termites crawled out. Shot in the afternoon. One of their shed wings is at the edge of the left-hand hole.

Second image, a termite after shedding wings. I found this one indoors and took it outside. They fly in, lose their wings, and walk around.

Thanks, Stina. Those are my favourites too. :) Doesn't that bridge look crazy?? I was hoping for something like that but surprised that it actually worked!

Levina, I think your planet pictures are wonderful! The bridge is great but I particularly like the first one as it reminds me of Saint Exupury's "Little Prince". I'm sure you will be familiar with that book and the author's lovely illustrations.

Well done everyone for very creative work!

^^^Interesting look at termites, Oh! Fortunately we don't have the little beasties here!

Found something round at the shipyard this afternoon....

Nice one Richard. What kind of flower(?) is that?

Here's another round with reflections.

That's a good one, Richard. Great macro!

EDIT: your pic wasn't up yet when I started commenting to Richard, OldCrow. :) That's looks nice! A good round with pretty cool reflections in the metal.

I'd love to know how the planet photos are done.

I totally missed your question here, Sibil. Sorry about that.
Making a mini planet is real easy.

Here is a link where it is explained very well. It's the tutorial that I used too: http://content.photojojo.com …our-own-panorama-planets/ (external link)

These threads are such a treat! Lots of beautiful and clever rounds. I had not seen the "planet" effects before. So many possibilities - it really is inspiring to be part of this :-)

Those flowers are gorgeous, svizzerams! And a wonderful interpretation of the theme.

I feel the same about the WWPW thread as you do. Everybody's work is inspiring and for me personally it is a great place to experiment and try out new things. I learned so much since I joined. It's great!
