Using Tv and Center-spot AF, I've never had any problem catching action pics in-focus. Any lack of focus has always been my own inaccuracy in pointing that spot.

I don't use center, that makes for quite boring wedding shots, and sports shots. ;)

I am not saying this was the fault of the camera, nor is that the point of the replies. Sometimes 1.8 won't cut it, nor will it give you any latitude for mistakes. Thus if you are going to shut the lens down a bit, let's say f2.8, then why not just keep shooting the 70-200 f2.8 for weddings?

Sold the 70-200 f2.8 to get the 85 1.8 and the 135 f2 for weddings. I mostly use the 85@f2 and i love it. If you don't shoot against strong light CA is fine.

yes, my 85LII is the backup to 70-200LII. if space is tight or light is low, 85LII comes in.

85LII is not slow in focusing if you are using 1dX or 5D3.
wedding photography -> We are not into sports fast action, no issue with focusing.

Yes, 85LII is expensive. That's pretty much it. But it renders beautiful colours. I have not tried the 85 1.8.
