I am starting to focus on the SEO side of my site. We shoot Weddings, Seniors, Boudoir and (themed type shoots).

The themed type stuff is what I need help with. I have navigation set up for the Weddings, Seniors and Boudoir that was all very straight forward. But I am not sure what to call our "themed shoots section" that is where stuff falls that is not Boudoir but its also not seniors or wedding. Things like bikini beach shoots, our annual snowbunny shoot, we do a good amount of girls on motorcycles ..... kinda the catch all.

Any suggestions on what to call this section I have spent a couple months trying to figure it out and got nothing.

Sounds like "glamour" to me.

But more importantly, the question should be... who is your target audience for these themed shoots? What do you think they will google to find a photographer that shoots this?

On a side note, do parents that want to hire you as a senior photographer make any comments after seeing your boudoir/glamour work?

I had tossed the "Glamour" title around with my wife for a while but was not sold. Neither of us can think what we would search if looking to have these photos done. It has all been word of mouth up to this point.

You're right, I guess "glamour" is more of an industry term and a term that a potential client would use. I would say a big part of marketing 101 is KYC (knowing your customer) and this includes the need to be able to have a target audience and this requires some thinking/brainstorming. It's good that you're thinking about SEO but I think you're jumping the gun.

So first, let's figure out who you want to target and I'll give you an example (disclaimer, I'm no marketing expert by any means) and in no way I'm saying this is the best example. :)

So the very first idea I have is to target females 18-30 that have aspirations to be a model. So perhaps they'll google something like "how do I become a model" or "model photoshoots".

Another idea I had and I think this sort of goes hand in hand with boudoir photography is the "I want to get my husband/boyfriend photos of me".

With all that said, there are ton of photographers out there that are willing to TF/collab with models for these types of themed shoots so make sure you are offering potential clients something unique.

Good luck.

SEO-wise, navigation isn't as important as your title and content.

What is your site?

This is understandable, however it is the one part that I am having issues with as I get ready to do a makeover on the site.

The site is www.littlejohnphoto.com (external link)

It has had zero seo done to it and is in bad need of some work. Summer just ended and I will get my evenings and weekends back and plan to focus a good chunk on our website over the next couple weeks.
