This was a drive-by shooting. I have seen these Wood Ducks hanging out in this teeny tiny pond right beside the highway before, but every time I slow down to try to get a pic, they take off. This time I slowed right down, got the camera ready, and got a shot off before they vamoosed.

OK, thanks Al. So the quest continues! ;) At least I got the male, which was what I was really after. Strange, these were the only 2 ducks in this pond, maybe they are an odd mating pair.

Some of my most favorite shots have come from drive-by's (and through windows!). They're not all perfect... but the content is what I love.
