DxOMark has put Apple's iPhone 6 Plus through its mobile imaging tests and the results are in. Tested alongside its iPhone 6 sibling, the 6 Plus has the added benefit of optical image stabilization. Both phones scored well enough to place them at the top of DxOMark's mobile rankings, pushing the Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z3 down the list. Take a look at the full test results and how the iPhone 6 Plus compares to its sibling and its peers.

Hey everyone I have an iPhone 6. I AM impressed with how colorful the photos are and well exposed they come out. But Apple has installed serious noise reduction because so many details get blurred it looks like a bad Photoshop filter at times. But for the focal length the pictures do look better than my Canon compacts.

The digital image stabilization is for video where it records higher than 1080p and crops to make the frames align with each other. It does an AMAZING job at this and wish I could find a standalone camera that does it like this.

I've had the 6 since the 19th, I'm not impressed with the camera. Looks the same as on my 5s.

The photo score is higher than the score of all Canon cameras.....83 points for the iPhone 6 and 84 points for the iPhone 6 Plus vs 82 points for the Canon 6D.

What am I missing?

Im thinking that the ratings are for smartphones only.... DSLR's are in a separate class because they say "Top of the mobile rankings" and not Top of the DSLR ratings.

Im very impressed with the camera on the iPhone 6. I came from a 5.

It's clearly shown on the DXOMark site that it's the DXOMark Mobile score. Only Smartphones are compared. Dynamic range and low light ISO will be horrible compared to a 6D ... but probably about what you'd expect for a tiny sensor camera.
