Also the fan compared to my pro2 is pretty loud.

Overall I like my pro2 i5.

Does everything I need plus my so called minor photo editing in lightroom and photoshop

It replaced my desktop and laptop

That hasn't been my experience. I had a Pro 2 for about 7 months and my Pro 3 for 3 months now. I can rarely ever hear the fan on the SP3.

oh that's interesting, do you have the i5 or i7 one?

It's quite a bit louder than my pro 2 from my experience

oh I scrolled back up to the thread, I see you have the i5 one,

the i7 one is significantly louder, i'm guessing it uses more power

I also heard the battery life suffers with the i7 and the qHD screen. I read reading 4-5 hours whereas the SP3 is around 6-7.

My SP3 is a little over 8 hours usually. Obviously that drops if I'm in LR or PS but my typical battery usage is around 8.

That's really good.
Reviews said the SP3 would get about 7h30m for video which is what I need for traveling. Should last a trip from Boston to LA.

I have the I5/256GB SP3 and really like it (I had the SP1 before). They recently had a firmware update that was supposed to fix the fan/overheating issue of the I7 but I've had neither issue on the i5

Screen size it much better for LR and PS IMO and the keyboard with the new magnetic strip makes it stable enough that it is easy to use on your lap (plus the adjustable kickstand that works on any angle now).

All that being said, it is still a ULV processor and it can't touch a full mobile I5 or I7 but if you aren't processing 100's of photos all the time it will do the job.

If there are any specific questions I can answer let me know
