Keep it simple.

Optech sling. Extremely light, no metal, no slippage, quick disconnects, comfortable, unobtrusive, and inexpensive.

This is what I use, and as pictured here always with two connectors for security, even when it is just attached directly to the camera. Personally I can't stand the straps that connect to he base of the camera.

This you can also detach quickly and what is left on the camera doesn't get in the way of anything.

I have broken a couple of the plastic connectors (not while attaching/attaching the camera though, so would prefer something a bit stronger. But they are cheap, so I just keep a couple spare along with a space strap connector.

I like them, but I can see how a lot of people would be put off and think there is more chance of the camera becoming disconnected.

I 2nd the vote for no strap while on a tripod. It causes a lot of vibration.

I personally (with the same camera and bracket) use the Black Rapid and just quickly unscrew it if I'm switching to a tripod. Then, I change locations with the camera on the tripod over my shoulder. I've done that for years with my RRS BH40 with zero close calls or accidents.

I was going to do this too and tried it out (still might go back to it). However, I ordered the RRS plate when I recently ordered my head to use with my BR strap:

That plate is my personal favorite solution. Then you can use any strap you want (including the ones that mount with a 1/4-20 screw) and have the entire thing disconnect quickly and cleanly with nothing dangling from the camera while it's on the tripod.

Though I mostly use mine to carry around an extra telephoto with an arca plate.
