Sep 25, 2014 20:41 | #1 He/she landed on the deck rail and stayed for about 3 seconds then took off again. I looked through a few sources and guessed it would be a lesser goldfinch. However, this one seems to have more grey and less yellow than pictures of the lesser goldfinches that I saw. So, please help with the ID (the location is Central North Carolina).
