Adorama, Amazon, & B&H ship the item the next day. If you are in the continental US, your item should arrive in less than 1 week with their standard, free shipping. WHERE did you buy it from? A "canon distributor" is hardly a specific answer...

The delay might be more related to getting the lens to a military address in Afghanistan rather than who is the "Canon distributor."

Ok I may have read what you wrote before incorrectly. Not sure why you are so vague in wanting to say where you bought the lens from. Why such a big deal?

And if that distributor was a place like B&H Photo.

B/H wont ship to APO/AE military addresses, so nope I didn’t order through them..

vague answers usually end up resulting in the question being asked again...

and people not reading anything above three posts

If you are in the continental US,...

which I am not.

People, the lens is somewhere between New Jersey and Afghanistan. There is ZERO way to track it over the ocean.. And it won’t get tracked until it hits Kandahar Airfield where the US Post office is. Estimated deliver is 28 OCT..all of this information has been stated/answered above in prior posts.

Ok, there is a thing called a PX (Post Exchange) they have them at every base. These PXs have pretty much anything available to you, no tax, free shipping, and if they don’t stock it, they can order it. Where do these items get ordered from? Most items come right from the dealer. So the question of asking where did I order the lens from, the answer is, the PX. More specifically AAFES. (Army Air Force Exchange Service.

So there ya have it. Not sure if that helps anyone asking where the lens was ordered from.

I read all the posts, and read the ones in the other thread... When someone asks where you bought something they are just trying to help you out, especially if the item seems to be taking a long time....if you had answered with a response like you gave carpenter the question would've never been asked again...but vague answers like a canon distributer don't help people that are trying to help you

And does answering the question help? Well it establishes a legit seller, and shows that the delay isn't a concern...now did it really hurt you to answer it?

Adorama generally ships the SAME DAY for orders received up 'til 8pm ET!!

(If an item is in stock and there are no payment ID issues).

Yes: http://www.adorama.com/help/shippingAndDelivery (external link)

Shipments can be sent to both P.O. boxes and military APO/FPO addresses. Note: Please allow 6-8 weeks for orders shipped to military APO/FPO addresses for them to be delivered.

Hope you get it soon, man! It's a very, very good lens. The pain of the wait will be forgotten once you see your first images from it.
