Really great detail in this shot. Was he having a stretch or about to leave ?

I love them, it's just hard to get a decent pic of them with a 55-250.

The cormorant is a diving bird and swims underwater to get its fish. They perch themselves and hold their wings outreached to dry off in the sunlight. This process happens several times a day. Dive, dry off, dive, dry off....

Nice, over in the Bay, they are downright hated. They can eat an amazing amount of fish. Beautiful eyes they have too.

Another very nice shot, Rick-great color and detail. Is it possible to crop so the bird is more to the right side looking into the image rather than out of it? Then it would really be a wall hanger, but you're right, probably not much demand for it.

Not much love from boaters either..... that amazing amount of fish they eat comes out wherever they are perched ! ;)
