I ordered myself 2 5D Mark 3 for myself and my girlfriend. I am just wondering what accessories would be good for a 5D Mark 3?

Hoodman eye cup if you shoot outdoors, especially if you have glasses.

Sling strap since neck straps, especially with heavier lenses, hurt after a while.

Hrm,

A lens would be ideal. ;)

The rest, well, you should base accessories based on what you need for what you shoot. This sounds like a grab bag of just buying stuff. There's a lot of obvious answers, like more batteries, grips, extra memory cards, filters, lighting, tripods, straps, bags, rokkit blowers, etc. Lots of great stuff you eventually get for any camera system really. But the real thing is to get accessories that are helpful based on what you actually do.

So what do you two shoot that required 5D3's? What lenses are you planning on using?

Very best,

Currently I have the:

  1. 50mm f/1.4
  2. 18-55mm f/4-5.6
  3. 55/250mm f/4-5.6
  4. 24-105mm f/4

I am not sure what other lens should I get. I would be appreciative for your recommendations.
I shoot a lot of nature, cars, tennis, landscape, and people with a t3i.
Eventually upgrading to 5d mark iii in half a month.
My buget for me, I'm just trying to go under 1500.

I do see the potential for a few of those listed lenses as being EF-S mount and they should not be used on the 5DIII.

DSLR Controller (Android app) - if you have Android phone / tablet

You can also buy a lot of cheap accessories at Fleabay. Things like step up / down rings, remote controls, etc.

I want to guest blog on your Landscape / Travel photography blog, PM for details

Well i upgraded from those lenses when I sold my t3i. I bought myself a 50mm 1.2, 35 mm, and 70-200 f4.

Very best,

Well basically, my girlfriend and I started out with t3i/t2i then we shared a 7D for a year then we both felt, we get fast shots, but not enough focusing points. So we both liked how the 5d3 felt looked and we rented one for 3 month. We both strictly used it for 1 month and a half then we saved up a bit and decided that one wasnt good enough due both of us will be using it, so it is best to get two. How I shoot is mainly street photography, a little wedding, and portraits.

Have you thought about a battery grip for one of them? If you handhold, it seems to balance better. The extra battery also helps.

Actually I have. I am just looking into what would be a good brand for the battery grip. My friend gave me a 3 extra batteries. So I think I should be fine. Any recommendations for a battery grip?

I want to get a tripod, but I am not sure which one to get. I know I don't want to spend more than 150 on a tripod that is sturdy, light, easily travel with, has different functions. Any recommendations?

The rule of tripods: lightweight, sturdy, inexpensive -- pick two. You are not going to meet all three of your criteria for $150.

I spent $45 on a Zeikos grip and have had 0 issues with it in 15 months. (little more expensive now)

Remote shutter release.

Across-the-chest shoulder straps.

For a budget tripod, I really like this one at Costco: Link (external link)
Fairly light (CF), seems sturdy enough, holds my 5DIII + 70-200 f/4L without issue. I'm more likely to throw it in the car vs my big Manfrotto.

How low can it reach the ground?
