Have you tried topaz detail 3? I use that instead of sharpening. Its a multi level contrast adjustment filter. Works great on moon shots. The eye perceives contrast as sharpness.

Looks good . I use Topaz Detail also so I agree with griz11 . Never hurts to try . You can download the trial and they will send you a key in email that works for 30-days . It leaves no watermarks or anything on your image . Other words when you edit something with the trial your final output is good to go . http://www.topazlabs.c​om/detail (external link)
