I have no idea, Jo. All I know is that these are made especially for the tourists. Some farmers will still wear wooden shoes but not these! :)

Those are good ones, Stina. And early morning vs late in the day is also a lesson in light!

Thanks, Levina. Quite the difference in light and the light was boring going to work.

Food grater

A few more random shots.

Nice repetitions Sibil. (At least Stina and I knew that your earlier shot was a grater!:D)

Sculpture!...
(There are in fact two repetitions here...one is the shapes cut in the steel form, the other is that our city council repeatedly spends zillions of dollars importing artworks that have little relevance here while excellent local artists have to go elsewhere to be recognised!)

I browsed back to see both your comments. Right! See, our graters look much much different...

And was that one of the imported artworks you talked about, Richard? I hope not, because I like it! And it's excellent for this week's theme. As is the repetitious stupidity of city councils (yes, it is clearly a universal thing!).

Thanks Levina...well, I have no particular problem with the sculpture as such, but I do resent the "cultural cringe" implied in the choice of a piece from a foreign artist over something more local...specially when work from local artists is being acclaimed elsewhere yet many are not represented here!

^ Yeah, even for city councils the grass seems greener on the other side of the fence. Or maybe it's the same as with prophets. It's said they are never loved in their own town; maybe the same is true for artists.

Well, this is weird. I had posted another picture. Where is it? Did something happen? Or did I have a senior moment where I only *thought* I had clicked the button, but didn't?

When I "posted" the picture I said to you, Richard, that maybe a nice game of checkers might cheer you up.

Yes, I've lost the odd post over the months...same reason I suspect!
