Very nice video for a good looking lens!

I hope the C version is good value too.

hmm...i'm not sure if that was really a design...many people have been using the 150-500OS, and 50-500OS as a push pull just by doing that exact same thing...

I used to push-pull my 150-500 like that. Never had a problem or sensed I might be hurting the lens using it that way. My Tamron 150-600 feels like it might not like it when I do that though. Might be fine, but it really feels like the mechanism is being stressed. So I don't use it that way.

just fyi, i emailed tamron about using it like that...because someone was saying that it would damage the lens...they said there should be no issue at all...

Anyone have any idea when this new Sigma 150-600 sports lens is likely to see the dealer's shelves?

I think I remember you posting that before. Still don't like the way it feels though. I don't know what the mechanism actually looks like, but it feels like a set of fine tooth plastic gears, that aren't happy with being driven that way.

Probably just me.

I tried the push/pull technique shooting kid soccer handheld with that lens. It was too awkward for me to have my left hand holding the tip of the lens. The lens is so long that It is kind of like sticking your left arm fully extended in front of you for an hour. Your arm starts to fall asleep. If I had a monopod maybe that would make the technique work OK.

For me, with my Tamron, shooting wildlife and needing to go quickly from 150 to 600, the ring takes more travel than I can usually get in one twist, so "going quickly" doesn't really go so quickly. It becomes an awkward movement. Push pull is the only way to fly in that situation, IMO. But I get the shot (or don't...) and I'm done for awhile until another target presents itself. Not like I'm playing a set with a trombone and having to hold it up like that for any extended period.
