B&H has it on sale.

I bought Flipside 400 AW awhile ago and it became one of my most used in action. Wondering if anyone has used this little brother and can offer some opinions.

I have the 300 and really like it. It holds lots of gear, almost to much for a day of hiking. I tend to take more equipment than I need.

I own both the Flipside 300 and 400AW. While the 400AW gets used more since I purchased it due to holding more equipment and having the built-in rain cover, the 300 works very well when you want something smaller. It works great for air travel, as it will fit under any seat and still leave you some leg room. I used to be able to cram a lot of gear in the 300 -- it just wasn't big enough when I added a 2nd body.

For Flipside 300, it says water resistant, how good is it dealing with light rain (not down pouring, more like drizzling)?

I am not familiar with that particular model, but all my bags and one backpack are Lowe Pro and I like them a lot. Well made, durable convenient to use. I have used them for years.

Best, Bruce

It should be fine under those conditions. The 300 just does not have a built-in rain cover like the 400AW.

Would this hold a Tamron 150-600 mounted on camera?

I have one and it holds quite a few items and is not overly bulky or too big. I really like the fact that the opening for the gear faces my back and therefore eliminate any sneaking hands from accessing my gear. It's very sturdy and well built. I even thought of getting one to use for commuting to work to carry my things.

The 300? Yes. I have it and it holds 7D with grip and 150-600 mounted (hood reversed). (along with that pouch in the 300 not needing to remove)
