I'm interested in this new TC but for the price I might as well get a used Canon III

Or get a, e.g. 70D, 7D, 7DII etc. for no less of light or optical quality :)

Ya I thought about that. A 7d used around 550 or a canon 1.4 iii for 400

i'm really curious about the 1.4X...with the fact it states it can still AF at f8...it's got me wondering if i could put my 2X and 1.4X on my 120-300OS, and still retain AF on my 70D...if that were true, i wouldn't even think about the 7DII...at least for a while

Not true. Fine print says as long as body can AF at F8.

Additionally, the tele converters are designed for high durability – being both dust and splash-proof. These new teleconverters are capable of shooting effective AF at F8, if the camera can do so.
