Lone Star Lemans - COTA

I spent the weekend, September 18-20, 2014 at Circuit of the Americas shooting the Tudor Championship/FIA WEC machines. I wasn't accredited, so all my shots are from the GA areas

I rented a 300 2.8 IS + 2x converter...shooting at 600 5.6 for the day shots and 300 2.8 at night...I loved the combination and hope to own the pair at some point...My 5D3 did well, even with 6fps, I believe I yielded great results

Great series. Superb composition and lights. My favourite is #71. Congratulations.

Holy cow these are great shots. Nice work. I'd like to see the headlights white, but that's just preferences over reality haha

thanks guys! your feedback is greatly appreciated...these shots dont get a ton of play on FB...my fans like the boring landscape/flower stuff...nice to have a place to share what i love

thank you sir...i wish there was an "easy" button to get trackside...ive been shooting GA for myself since COTA opened

this is an outstanding set...really nice work. Night racing opens up so many cool options and opportunities.

Great photos, but then thats what you expect from a 200mm f2.8

thanks TRhoads...when i heard it was gonna be a night race, i certainly did what i needed to do in order to attend that weekend...looking back, i wish i had shot more at 600 5.6 at night...i have some great ISO6400 shots, wondering what i could have came home with, had i kept the 2.0x a little longer

i just had some prints delivered yesterday

10x20 of the 1st image on this thread (#99 AMR @ night)
12x18 of the 3rd image (#48 R8 @ day)
12x18 of an image i didnt post (#1 audi etron r18 @ night)

on all metallic paper

and for a recent customer, i got in a 20x30 of the #93 SRT Dodge Viper GTSR, also metallic...framed it in a faux carbon fiber frame...and i gotta say, it looks more like the real thing than a fake
