Hey all,

I have been working on a pair of mismatched and pretty dated dell U2007fp and u2007wfp(that I found for $15 at goodwill) for a while now and I am feeling that its about due time for a monitor update. I am wanting to go larger with the new monitor and am considering a 27 inch 1440P monitor such as the Asus pb278q.

While the primary use for the computer is photo/video/music editing I also do a bit of gaming and am anticipating that I will need a new graphics card to drive the new monitor. I am currently running a gtx560se that does fine for most things but I doubt it would be up to the task for the new higher resolution monitor. I'm thinking of something along the lines of a GTX760 or GTX770 since I have always used nvidea cards in the past but I wouldn't be opposed to giving an AMD card a go.

My max budget is around $900 but if anyone knows of anything else in or around that sort of price range I should be looking at I would much appreciate any advice while I shop around.

If you want an amazing monitor Take a look at the LG 34um95-p, This monitor is a 34inch 21:9 1440P (3440x1440) monitor. I think its enough to just have one. No need for a second monitor. If you would like to wait a couple months then AOC (Model: u3477Pqu) is coming out with something with the same specs but cheaper(Around $600). Its an alternative and feel confident that it would be a great setup.

I have looked at these and a friend has one. They are pretty amazing, the higher resolution model is out of my price range though since I am pretty sure I am going to need to upgrade my graphics card at the same time. That would be pretty awesome though.

Edit: I have also looked at the Asus PB287q and love everything about it other than that it is a TN panel although it is supposed to be one of the best TN panels on the market right now.
