Hi,
Just got my sigma 50 non art few hours ago and was happy with the build. I took some shots with a 600D (my 70d still at canon service center) and noticed something I can't understand.
First, it nails focus. I took 10 consecutive shots (handheld) and gave me an almost perfect rate.

Second, while doing the shots, I didn't hear any lens focus hunting so I stopped and looked at the photos. They were from sharp to acceptably sharp ones (posted was the sharpest). So, I defocused the camera to make it hunt, took seven shots. It hunted at the first shot and remained silent on the remaining six shots. But this time, they were 100% OOF.
What am I experiencing with lens? It does not hunt if the shot is near to the focus plane of the previous shot is also a thing I noticed. I have to rotate the ring (just enough to blur the target) to make it hunt. The funny thing is its consistent, if it gave you a sharp one at first shot, it will make the rest sharp (still subjects) and vice versa. Again, I'm happy with it,. I just need to deal on this one.
These were at 1.4, 1/200, iso 100, bounced speedlite at 1/4. Mid point used aimed on the 24 105 (lensband). Distance is at 3-4 ft.
