I found my parents old Canon SLR accessories such as lenses and their speed flash. The lenses aren't EOS lenses so they aren't going to work, but I want to know if the Speedflash will work. I read some where that if you don't have the right flash for the right camera it can screw up the camera. Before I go trying it out and putting it on the camera I want to knwo for sure if it's ok. haha

It would only work in manual flash mode. You should measure (between the big bottom contact and the one on the edge of the shoe mount) the trigger voltage. The 10D gets very unhappy (to the tune of frying your shutter over time) if you use flashes with trigger voltage of over 6 V.

I'm not even going to try and use it then. No need to worry about all that. I'll just go and buy a flash suited better for what I want to do. I just figured since it wasn't being used why not put it to use if it can be put to use.
