I was telling some people at the California get-together in Cambria about my brother's car, and figured I'd post a few pics of it to show what it looks like. One of these days we'll have to schedule a real photo shoot so I can get some shots in a more scenic environment.

It's a 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 that he's restoring. I love the paint job. You have to be looking at it at just the right angle for the flames on the sides and sparkles on the top to be visible. Does anyone notice something a bit unusual about it? (Check the fourth and sixth pictures...)

Sorry. I normally link to pictures on my server but these are hosted by his and I forgot to enable hotlinking from POTN to there. They should work now...

Sweet Ride. Paint job looks like it is about a yard deep :-)
Looks like someone forgot the door handles. Must be solenoids in the wheel wells ???

Bless the recently fallen and their family and friends.

It is pretty deep. While he was loading the car onto a flatbed truck last month when he moved from Wyoming to California, he scratched it just behind the right front tire. I was surprised how deep that scratch is. Fortunately, it didn't hit a flame, and the guy who did the paint job said it will be very easy to fix.

Yep, that's what I was referring to when I mentioned something unusual! He removed the door handles to keep it smooth. At first he was planning to put latches under the frame by the tailpipe that runs down the side of the car so he could just kick the door open. Last time I talked to him about it he had changed his mind. Instead, he's putting in a remote entry system. Just push a button on the keyring and the door pops open.

Nice car.
Beautiful finish.
Would be nice to shoot it in better conditions, get some wicked reflections.

I suspect that he'd get laughed out of one of our parking lots!
