I am looking to get one of two lenses right now, a wide angle (16-28 f2.8) or a telephoto (300 f4 IS). I will get the other one at a later date.

Both should have equal usage time with what I shoot and both lenses will cost about the same (within $100).

Which one would you go for and why?

Do you put crunchy or creamy peanut butter on wheat toast?

The 16-28 f2.8, because there's a greater chance you'll find a deal on a used 300.

Heya,

If all things are equal to you, it's 50/50, flip a coin. You've provided nothing that would help someone guide you on a lens. Plus you're buying both anyways eventually, so what does it matter?

Very best,
